A year without you

June 3rd 2023 was the day I lost my grandfather.
It has been a year today.

Many things had happened since then.
It still feels like yesterday I talked to him, hugged him, laughed with him, heard him talking about his childhood days, his career, the tough days during British and Japan colonisation and many more. He loved to talk. Like a lot. Most of the time, I just listened to his stories.

Home feels different without him.
I used to spend time in his room listen to his stories. A year has passed, I could still feel his presence. He has this chair that he used to sit, next to the dining table. I could still see him there, watching tv, smiling when we called his name. Sometimes our cat, Yulip would meowing, and climbed to sit on his lap. He would caressed him and Yulip continues meowing to get his full attention.

A year has passed, never did we say “late grandpa” whenever we talk about him. We say grandpa as if he is still alive.

My grandpa routine started with waking up for fajr prayer before 6. He would spend his time to recite Holy Quran after each prayer. He had finished a whole Quran at least 3 times in a year. Breakfast in the morning with grandma. Watching tv next. Then got into his room. He usually did these few things: either sleeping, reading newspapers, reciting zikr; he did a lot, like a lot, gifts for his late mother and father, he told me he had recited 100 000 of 3 qul and 100 000 of other things for them. Other than that he would be doing some calculations; something to do with his saham koperasi sometimes zakat/assets.

When it’s the time for prayer, he prayed. When it’s time for meal, he ate. Unlike my grandmother who is a picky eater, he would eat anything, never did he lose his appetite until his very last day in this dunya. The day Allah took him from us, he still ate his lunch. He loved black grapes, the one without seeds, yakult, orange juice from Twister, and ikan baung masak tempoyak. He loved baung masak tempoyak really much. He didnt mind to eat it for days. He would slurp the gravy till the very last drop. That’s how he loved baung masak tempoyak.

I remember the time when he sent me and picked me up from school. I was a crybaby back then ha-ha, I would be crying every time he picked me up late from school. How could I not? I was the only one left outside the school compound while the rest of the pupils already went home. 20 years later, I’m still a crybaby-sometimes hahahaha. My husband called me so lol. Sometimes he would ride his bike, some other times he drove his old edition of volkswagen bettle which the other pupils would be laughing at me calling the car “kereta katak”. There were times I prayed to Allah please dont send the rain down today because I dont wanna go to school in that car! Hahahahaha. Youngsters…they just dont know how to appreciate the uniqueness of that classic car! Hahaha. I kind of miss that car now. My grandfather sold it for 11k years ago.

A year has passed now.
This morning my grandma asked me to put the old photos from different separate albums into one thick album. There were lots of pictures of you, grandpa. I think I like the grandpa version of you rather than the younger version of you hahahaha. You looked way cuter and cheekier in grandpa version. Your younger version makes you looked like a strict man, I dont like that! Hahahahaha. I’m glad I met the old version of you. I pray that we could see each other again in Jannah inshallah.

Oh Allah,
Please forgive my grandfather, raise his rank among those who are guided, expand his grave and take care of us which he leaves behind him. Ameen ameen inshallah.

booktoks made me buy it

I used to love reading malay fiction books years ago.
Like every single weekend I would go to the bookstore to buy a single book and I could finish reading it within 1-2 days.
The moment I entered second year of medschool I became detached to it.
And years later, when I was in my last posting of housemaship I came across my friend's ig story about religious books from Mizi Wahid, it's beautiful. I bought the whole set for myself.
Andddddd the last thing I know I now own about 50 fiction books ha-ha.
Have I read all of them?
Absolutely no.

Told my husband buying books and reading books are two different hobbies.
I like the feeling of you own something.
This books are now finally under my possessions.
It's all started with tiktok.
They are all booktok recommended.

Now that I want to focus on my part 1, I no longer read the books, but still I want to buy more.
Mashallah.
But alhamdulliah I managed to suppress the syaiton inside me, ha-ha-ha.
I still went to bookstore once in a week, but only for sight seeing :p
Alhamdulliah.

Once in a while, I would go to the online bookstore, book depository, mph, bookxcess, some shopees, it's a good feeling seeing good books.
I feel like want to own them astargfirullah.
But the feeling is only temporary.
Ha-ha-ha.

If you look at my TBR list ya Allah it's a long list.
Dont know when I'm gonna finish them.
Inshallah one day.

Eh how come people can read one 800 pages book in one day???
Like A Little Life, The Priory of the Orange Tree etc.
If only I can read the whole oxford revision note in one day...
Not gonna happen aint it zzz

Andddd it's finally my favorite month of the year.
The parcel from bookdepository is on it's way.
Hehehehe.

Bertambahlah tbr list saya.
:p

Till then,
bye.

Happy New Year 2022

Happy New Year 2022!

Hopefully this year will be better than the previous ones.
I'm turning 29 this year.
Alamak, nak 30 tahun dah.

When I was a little girl, I always wonder how it feels like growing old, then you move out from your house to further your study/ working, subsequently you got married and having kids.
Like macam mana I nak bayar bills?
Pandai ke I nak drive nanti?
What if I tinggal jauh daripada family, how?

Maka dah terjawablah semua ha-ha.

Sekali betul-betul ya tinggal jauh, seberang Laut China Selatan kau.
Hopefully I will enjoy staying here.
Later when I going back Semenanjung, when people ask me how's Kuching? hopefully I will answer bestttt, I really enjoy myself there, nice place, nice people, banyak tempat menarik I dah pergi, it's surely a nice experiencelah serving there.
Bilalah tu agaknya dapat pindah balik Semenanjung ya.

Dah boleh start counting days nak balik Semenanjung.
3 minggu lagi.
I harap Covid last tahun nilahh.
Please no more MCO thingy ke, kita memang kena hidup dalam situasi endemic ni, macam mana dulu kita hidup dengan denggi, denggi endemic what. I know there's a lot differences between this two.
Please I nak raya tahun ni.
My husband dah 2 tahun tak balik raya kampung dia.
Nasib tahun lepas dah kawin dengan I, kalau tak dia pun krik krik raya sorang dekat Selangor.

Semoga yang baik-baiklah untuk kita tahun ni.
Macam biasa, tahun baru mesti ada azam baru.

So, azam I (dalam hati) inshallah akan diusahakan semuanya.

:)

moving to a new place

Wow...it's been a long time.
I last blogged in August.

So, I have moved to Kuching.
Many people asked me why Kuching?
Well, I followed my husband since he got a job offer in Politeknik Kuching as a lecturer.
Previously he worked in an IT company in Cyberjaya as a system engineer.
And the next question people asked is still the same,
Why Kuching?
Minta sana ke?
Kenapa tak minta semenanjung?
Tak buat rayuan ke?
So, I answered lah, dah rezeki kat sini. Cannot appeal, it's either you accept or reject the offer. If you reject, you are blacklisted. Plus this is permanent position, future secured, apa orang kampung kata, kerja gomen, ada pencen agittuew.

Long story short, I pun ikut pindah sekali.
Alhamdulliah, no more LDR.
Got to see him everyday,  and it's such a blessed ;)

I'm still dealing with COVID patients here, 12h shift, different environment from my previous hospital with flexible working days. Rasa work-life balance tu, managed to make bento for my husband, takdelah everyday, tapi adalah few days in a week.

I tak surelah once this over, which department I would go. I have this one department in my mind that I wanna join, but the priority is to those who have passed part 1, or at least have tried taking it , but I ilek. Sikda paper agik. Baru plan nak ambil next year. Tengoklah nanti rezeki dekat mana.

For now, I guess I kena prepare dulu mentally and update my knowledge as well, eh mestilah kena updated. Banyak kamek sudah lupak ha-ha.

Sik sabar mok balit Malaya next month.
Once again I naik pelamin, after 11 months kawin.
This time, belah husband pula.
Orang kata pengantin dah basi :p
Hahahahaha.

Baru ada kesempatan nak buat, sebelum ni MCO manjang.
Now, we just need to live along with COVID.

I'm trying my best to learn speaking bahasa sarawak.
The moment orang tanya, kitak orang sitok ka? rasa macam wow.
I baru speak a little bit.
Banyak agik sik tauk.
Hentam jak.

Ada bunyinya, they said.
Nanti lama-lama pandailah.

Okaylah, hopefully I rajin nak blog lagi pasni,.

:)

fast forward 8 months

Up to yesterday, 500 days had passed since the first MCO was implemented.
Never had I imagined, the MCO would still be ongoing up to these days. It should have been ended months back.

Yet, COVID-19 cases keep on rising each day, exceeding 1 millions cases from late July. We all know who's the culprit behind this. If only Sabah state election were not happened, I would probably enjoying my holiday somewhere in one of the spectacular islands in Borneo with my husband right now.

Fast forward 8 months,

I have become a wife, to the love of my life after 10 years of dating, on my 28th birthday early this year. People do asked me the question, what it feels like marrying someone I have been knowing since my teenage years? Well, i can say it feels like home :> He makes me feel like home. I can feel the comfort, the warmth and tender of his love and affections. Praise be to Allah for this gift.

I'm grateful that we managed to hold our wedding ceremony a month after we tied the knot, a month later a nationwide full lockdown was commenced.

As for me this total lockdown is a total failure, you see we are far from 4000 cases, let alone 0 cases. Many had loses their jobs, unable to put food on the table, a lot had loses their loved ones, young wives lost their husbands in the fight, a husband that is the only bread winner leaving them penniless, struggles to raise the kids, some goes into depressive state, to a worst case scenario committed suicide, countless children had become orphaned, clueless of their future. If only "they" close down the great contributor to this mess, the factories. This is what happen when the one with power cares only the sustenance of their position, their eyes sees nothing but greed for power, money and lust, even as the one below the chain lives in devastation and despair.

There is no freedom of speech in the country.
Our voices will never be heard.

The question is how long do we need to keep up with this MCO thingy? People dying everyday. The curve isnt going to flatten in near future, are we only depending on the vaccination programme alone? This MCO is certainly not effective at all.

---------------------------------------------------------

I have finished my housemanship training in July. I'm now a medical officer working in covid wards with 12 hours shift and 1 day off per week. To be honest, it's tiring. As the number of cases rise, we need more beds to cater all the patients. More than half of the wards in the hospital have been converted to covid wards. I see people suffer everyday, people gasping for air to live, I see their last breath, we couldnt save them from death.

I find it hard explaining to their family members the patient's condition especially those who are unstable, in critical state where death is waiting at the door. The one that look stable the day before, or even in the morning, walking forth and back to the toilet, around the ward, with good oxygenation, asymptomatic upon admission, suddenly collapsed, intubated and the next thing you know, he's gone, to the eternal land.

A month in covid ward.
One day, I started to develop cough and sore throat. I had an unusual feeling, the feeling gets stronger the night I had a high grade fever of 39.2 degree celcius and the next night where I started to have anosmia, I smell nothing. I knew this isnt just a common cold. So, I went for swab and as expected I was tested positive for Covid-19. The moment I knew this news, I cried, a lot. I was afraid, I had seen worse. I called my mother to inform the bad news, she wailed in tears, so I am. I started to overthink, I told my husband if I get admitted and the condition gets worse, I would choose for intubation as the prognosis is good for young people. He gave me a silent gaze.

What I afraid most came to reality, on 27th July the whole family confirmed positive for Covid-19. Thank God my grandparents are protected from this illness. Many of my colleagues too tested positive for Covid-19. Even so, the day after we completed quarantine, we will continue serving the nation in covid wards, and "they" still denies for us the permanent post. Irony isnt it?

Today, I'm on my eleventh day of illness (from swab on 23rd July). Alhamdulliah I'm getting better. I have gotten back the sense of smell. I'm back to my usual self. I can cook for the family, had finished my second painting, reading books, watching my favorite shows, I'm planning on finishing all the books I'd bought before buying the new ones, those recommended books on Tiktok. I have 10+ more days of quarantine, as I was told by the PKD in charge, I have to follow the date of the last positive person in the house which is my husband.

My grandparents are going for their second swab tomorrow, hopefully this too will turn out negative, just please, they're too old for this, their body are fragile, they couldnt withstand the pain. Inshallah, negative test for both of them.

Please pray for our recovery.
I miss seeing my grandparents, and my cats too especially Yulip.
I told my husband this around bedtime, when this pandemic ends, let's go for honeymoon :>

deep thoughts

Fast forward 3 months, currently I'm in my 5th posting, Orthopedic, which leaves me one more posting to finish housemanship. Almost a month in orthopedic and I think I have totally adapted to the system in this department. Still missing O&G sometimes, I miss the smell of newborn, just freshly out from their mummy's womb, I miss being part of the beginning of motherhood, I miss the smell of liquor too ha-ha, the sound of baby's heart beat, the anxiousness whenever seeing there is a deceleration in the CTG, the excitement to cheer the mother to PUSH! PUSH! Sometime, when I look myself few years later, I'm seeing myself as an O&G medical officer, some other time, in an alternate future, I'm seeing myself as other than O&G doctor, maybe psychiatry, or working in Klinik Kesihatan. When I think I have made my decision to be in O&G team...suddenly I feel like am I suit enough to be one?

It's okay, still have plenty of time to think.

Now let's talk about wedding preparation.
To be honest, I'm worried the wedding might get postponed. Look around, the COVID-19 cases keep on rising, up till yesterday the cases was 1400++. Of course as a woman I have my dream wedding. Even if the government allows only up 100 guests to be at one time, we would take that chance and do the ceremony. The problem is that, if, if the government make the rules NO GATHERINGS INCLUDING WEDDING on the date we have chose to get married, then only the solemnization would be held. The wedding? Postpone until the date to be determined later. What worries me is that what if it get postponed to months later and we were no longer in the mood to hold the wedding?

If only the solemnization allowed in February, no wedding, I pray that we have the chance to choose the venue, and please be it HOME. Just please, so that I could have a mini wedding dais, so that we could take photos together with our families and loved ones for our own keep later. Ameen ameen inshallah.

I agree with the fact that COVID-19 is surely a test to us all.

Many loss their job, no money to put food on table, to keep the roof over their heads, some loss their family members due to this pandemic. I really really hope 2021 would be a good year.

Now we are already in December, with the case shows no signs of improvement, I mean look at the numbers, everyday it is more than thousand cases, so my question is would 2021 be a good one for us?

And the answer,
Only Allah knows.

Let's pray for the best
May Allah grant my prayers to get married and hold a wedding ceremony in February 2021.

Inshallah.

:)

it's july already

Well, it's July already.
Means it's just months away before forever begins inshallah :)

Tonight will be my last oncall in paediatrics department, soon I'll be moving to Obs & Gynae where I will witness the tears and joy of giving birth to the little creatures. I am so nervous. It is the usual feelings whenever I'm moving from one department to another. Surely, I'll be missing paediatrics like what happened to previous postings ha-ha. Hope I will learn a lot.

July 7 marks the first year of me being a medical doctor.
It feels like yesterday I received the email for e-houseman, choosing Hospital Muar for my housemanship, the nervousness to start working, the anxiety every time waking up in the morning, felt so tired and exhausted at the end of the day but still need to get up the next day and be a full functioning doctor, sometimes felt like quiting and just do nothing at home, alhamdulliah I survived my first year.

But still...a long road to go.

3 more postings.
Inshallah this too shall pass.

Forever begins in few months from now.
Please do pray for us.
Feels pretty relieved now that everyone can hold their wedding ceremonies.
Hoping the best for next year.
Hopefully it is much more easier than the current SOP.

Till then :)

what happen in 2020 so far?

Cant you believe how quick this year feels like?
Ramadhan left us already and now Syawal has come, June in few more days, half way through 2020. From early this year the only thing that taking over the news and all is just Covid-19. It's Covid 19, not even Covid-20, man! You get me? Ha-ha. Now Covid 19 has already become like a norm to us. Everything wont get back to normal, the days before Covid, believe me it takes years to settle this pandemic. We will get used to it eventually. Now that MCO isnt as strict as the first time being implemented, I can see countless cars on the road, people already went out like it's nothing, we can even cross the states, provided we have a pass and a strong valid reason.

This Covid thing has robbed so much things from us, you name it. Freedom, jobs, families, well last time I went out for movie and shopping was in December. Wow that was 5 months ago! and I havent seen Shahrin for 7 months now. Miss him already. I'm glad I'm working in Muar so I get to stay with my family. Some people didnt event get to see their parents for a long time, didnt even get the chance to go back home for Raya. Some people lost their jobs, can no longer provide food on the tables, some need to face the lost of their loved ones, children can no longer get proper education from schools, big exams like SPM and STPM need to be dragged to a year ahead of unknown dates. SPM kids from the year 2019 should  have already by now get a placement in matriculation/ foundation/ A-level etc, yet they're still waiting. Gladly students from universities, colleges that had been stranded for months finally get to be sent home.

What else? Not to forget those who need to postpone their wedding ceremonies or worst case need to cancel it. The saddest part is when the MCO implemented few days before their weddings. If I were in their shoes I would cry to death. Imagine all the efforts, the preparations that they had made go wasted. Not only that, all the religious activities need to be stopped. No more congregational prayers. This Ramadhan feels so fast since there were no more solat tarawikh, no bazaar ramadhan, no solat hari raya. We cant go visiting our relatives during raya, that's our tradition.

The funny part is, this is the year we have been waiting since our childhood, while singing Wawasan 2020, we wondered how 2020 feels like, we imagined there are flying cars as in futuristic movies. Heck no. Other than this Covid thingy, minimum salary for fresh grads still 1.2k, houses getting expensive, doctors that are previously considered as critical jobs now are no longer critical, from permanent position changed to contract, just because I was born in 1993 makes me stuck in this kind of situation. You see, people born 2-3 years before me get to secure a permanent position in goverment no matter how suck they are at doing jobs, while us born later no more permanent dey. Last time they said, if you maintain good attitude, and excellent CCP and if you pass a paper, you would secure a permanent placement. Now, in your dreams. No more! Even already finishing housemaship still UD 41, last time after 2 years of housemanship directly straight away to UD 44 with a raised, now the salary is even lesser than house officer.

Sometimes, I wonder why I were not born in 1990? If so, I would be a permanent medical officer by now. But then, I might not meet Shahrin. Meeting him is one of the greatest blessings. Hopefully we can have a proper wedding ceremony next year or else we just do a simple solemnization with our small families. I'm still hoping for miracles to happen. Just please let us have a proper wedding so that we can invite our big families and friends. It's a celebration of course you wanted to bring joy to others. Well good food makes people happy!

I think it's not too late to wish Selamat Hari Raya people! This year is my first year celebrating raya as a doctor. First raya in hospital, I worked on the first and second raya, so I brought raya food to work. First time giving duit raya to family members, it's kind of hm what we call it, I feel happy when I see them happy. Thought can meet Shahrin and his family this raya like the last time, but Allah knows best. Hoping for a better tomorrow.

is blogging still relevant?

Few days ago, I happened to talk to Shahrin expressing how excited I was when I started writing back on this site, and the first question came out from him "ada lagi ke orang main blog sekarang?"
Well, the answer is obvious.

I used to blog a lot back then. I remember going back from classes, feeling so much enthusiasm with tons of ideas on my head, started writing, blogwalking and such. It was way before instagram, the time where twitter was still using an egg as a twitcon, and where facebook was meant for youngsters. When I write, I feel happy. It was like an escape for me from reality. The moment I started medical school, I blogged lesser and year by year blogging is no longer relevant.

Yet, here I am still writing.
Luls.

Years later, I will go back here reading my old self expressing herself and wonder oh this is how I was in 2020. Like walking down memory lane ha-ha.

Okayss time to sahoor and revise for my next assessments.
Alhamdulliah, few more assessment to go. May Allah ease everything, can feel chills down my body whenever I think of my specialist assessment, inshallah this too shall pass. As we are in Ramadhan, the month of blessings, just keep on praying, like a lot, He hears, fuhh fuhh (like casting a spell luls) a bit inshallah she shall become very soft and pass me hihi.

This assessments remembers me of my medschool life, endless exams till we already became immuned ha-ha. Inshallah this too shall pass.

Later ^^,

the head key

I had just finished the first season of Locke and Key, a Netflix series. It has been in my list-to-watched-series since the day the series was released, but  only had time to watch it recently. Hokayyyhh, so Locke and Key tells about a Locke Family who possess magical keys. They were created by The Locke hundreds years ago, for whatever purpose it is, I hope they will reveal in the next season.

Out of all this keys, if I had had the chance to be one of the keepers, I would like to go for the Head Key. This key allows the person to walk inside their head/ others'. How? It's magic. Well, basically every single person in the series got an invisible key hole at the nape of their neck that will only come to appearance the seconds they hold the key near it. Once the key clicked, a door come into sight. Just go thru the door and walla you're now inside your/someone's else head.

I would like to go strolling around the sections in my brain, and go into the memory lane. I would like to visit my childhood. I guess I would go to this particular time often the moment my oldies were no longer here. If I were to describe my childhood, it was wonderful. I would like to visit other pleasant moments too like the day big exams result were announced where I could see the happy faces, bundles of congratulatory messages, the day I became a doctor etc. This reminds me of About Time. Tim go back in time to meet his late father, repeating the things they did in the past. There are also time where he did go back to correct his mistakes and as the consequences changes his future. Butterfly effect. In Locke and Key the situation is different. They cant go back in time. For each memories, they are only able to experience it as the third person, as they are watching their past old self. Like watching a movie.

There was a scene, where Tyler Locke goes inside his head, leaving behind a book: Massachusetts,  and he suddenly mastered the history of Massachusetts. Imagine if I could do the same, dont need 5 years to study medicine! Is this consider as cheating? Luls.

Other amazing thing about this key is that you can see your own fear. Sometimes your own fear manifested in a monster form and it is real scary! Wonder how Kinsey had the courage to fight her own fear. She dragged the fear out of her brain and buried it alive. Subsequently she turned into someone different, by throwing away her fear she became somewhat self centered, didnt even bother of other people that at one time putting her friends in great danger. Fear can be a good thing.

To think again, I dont need the key to visit my past memories, it is always here in my heart. Whatever happened in the past makes me who I am today. Things that hurt me, had make me became stronger and grateful for everything that I have now. I dont need eidetic memory to succeed, hard work is all I need. Okay feels burning inside! Ha-ha.

raya favorite questions

Wow it's almost 9 months since I graduated from medschool and still waiting to becalled for housemanship. Hopefully june intake so that when raya comes, you know during raya this aunties and uncles love to ask questions like:

When i'm still in medschool:
1. When youre gonna finish study ea?
2. Youre in what year already?
3. Hows school? Can take blood properlynow?
4. I have this this condition. What do you think? Any good meds for this?

Anticipated questions for this coming raya:
1. When youre gonna start working?
2. Which hospital?
3. Which department?
4. When youre gonna get married?
5. I have this this condition. What do you think?

Few weeks before Program Transformasi Minda (PTM), we already knew which hospital we're going to work in. The date for PTM has been locked on 24/6- (not sure) usually 5 days kot, means that E-ho will be at the end of May or early June so meanss thattt if I get selected in this intake, I can already give the answer for question 1.

unsettled feelings

I haven't watch the last installment of MCU for third phase yet. I decided to not scrolling down socmed as usual afraid I'd see the spoilers until two days back when Shahrin asked me which team I am. This question really triggered me, wanted to know more I looked into RDJ's instagram account, reading the comments from fans...scrolling down the twitter...and suddenly I knew the whole storyline even before watching it. I feel soooo frustrated why atthe first place I did read the spoilers 😭 I'm not the die hard fan of MCU but I did watch all the movies, avengers end gameis something everyone has waited for long, it is the end for the first generation of avengers. Even already been warned dont spoil the endgame, after 2 days in cinema you can see spoilers everywhere. I should not read them at all. It was a wrong move ever and now I feel like there's unsettled feelings. Despite that, at the same time I do feel like it's okayyyyy even if I've read the timeline I'll be surprised anyway soon I watch it on this coming Wednesday. Plus the time travel is already quite confusing for me that is why I google for more explanations 😅 Looking forward for the next phase of MCU.

when have the urge to write, write

I promised myself that I would start writing blog regularly since I'm home, unemployed, and have a bundle of free time, but turned up not a single post in February. Luls. My life currently is a bit boring I would say, every day with the same routine. Wake up at 6, go to bed at 12. Running some errands like buying groceries, paying bills, doing house chores, sweeping floor, mopping, cleaning toilets, cooking, giving food to cats and endless chit chat with family members. Not to forget playing games and online walking. I know I'm totally gonna miss this seconds so much later when I've already working. I probably gonna be really busy most of the time would be spend in the hospital day and night and this is the only chance where I've got so much free time with zero commitments.

I guess I'm gonna start working in June after raya. Please after raya, not next month (April). I've read somewhere in the telegram there were few intakes in 2018 took about 1000+ medical graduates. Suddenly I feel so not ready for housemanship. Yes children this is what happen when you don't plan your after- grad before housemanship life wisely yet keep on wondering when I'll start my Ho ship, then complaining why so late ha this time? Didnt the government do their job? Always feel not ready but never have the initiative to start revising religiously ha- ha- ha. Should be by the time you start working, you/re ready mentally, physically and have strong knowledge on what basic is basic.

Okay now all of sudden I start imagined how it feels like seeing a collapsed patient and I am the only attending doctor in the ward that need to start doing something useful before call for help from the seniors.

......

Panic attack!

iDie.

I supposed to read on o&g emergency at this very moment yet in a flash I have the urge to write. I think I should blog regularly hmmm have been saying this many time aiyoo.

This is me with some kind of awkward pose

Other thing, I have turned 26 on 21st February. Feels old enough. I pray for a smooth sailing journey throughout housemanship, I know it is impossible, in other words I hope no matter how bad my days gonna be, I'm strong enough to face it all and complete training in 2 years. I also pray I would start a family in few years time inshallah. It's already been 8 years with the same guy, still get butterflies in my stomach whenever I see him :p

Like Paramore says, "after all this time, I'm still into you"

cannot think of any title

I really wanted to finish the final part of my first umrah. It has been a month since my last post. Tapi semangat nak menulis tu tak datang pula. Even now I am not in the mood to write about umrah, I just want to write anything that crosses my mind at this very moment. Okayh.

1. Housemanship

Saya dah menganggur selama 5 bulan. Rasa macam lama tapi tak pun sebenarnya. Time flies tanpa kita sedar. Tiba-tiba je dah 5 bulan. I had heard a lot of rumours in regards to HO-ship. I have expected for the worst to happen in which bulan 10 baru masuk kerja. Yet, I am still hoping that it will started earlier, kalau boleh before raya, because I wanted to bring happiness to kids by giving them duit raya. I have read many stories of HO journey. Takde satu pun yang tak stress. Yelah mana ada kerja kat dunia ni yang tak stress. It is good to have positive stress in life, barulah kedepan. Eustress is kind of pembakar semangat. But not to forget of course ada juga negative stress. This one lah yang sampai satu tahap dah tak boleh tahan buat orang MIA or resign.

Conclusion from the stories Ive read, expect the worst. At the same time, pray for the best. Kita orang Islam doa tu senjata yang paling powerful. Takkan ada satu doa pun yang Allah tak makbulkan. It is just a matter of time, cepat atau lambat je. So, inshallah no matter how hard my HO ship journey gonna be, I will pass it within 2 years ameen. Harapan bila dah kerja nanti, stress macam mana pun kalau boleh tak nak lepaskan dekat orang lain. Every time something hits me, I need someone to talk to to feel relieve. Back then in medschool, I talked to my room mates, Anis & Azyati. Later semua orang akan stress dengan kerja masing- masing, soooo tinggallah Shahrin ittew to hear me out. I rarely talk to my family members kalau stress ke sedih ke. Maybe later I will.

2. Part time job

I gave up. Reason? Takde orang nak ambil kerja. Even pakai SPM. Sobs. So bye.

3. Cooking skills

Learned many recipes from nenek. The best part of cooking is after youve finish everything, it is time to serve your family, you see them eat and they compliment you. That is the best feeling ever. Yang tak sedap tu kena tegurlah so next time boleh improve. I only learn cooking at the age of 25, banyak lagiiiii yang taktau. Lagipun dekat rumah macam cerewet sikit, banyak makanan yang tak makan. Soooo I need to learn from internet too.

For now, I am satisfied with my knife skills. Dulu lembap nak mampus kalau kupas bawang tu, sekarang dah lajulah juga. Potong pun dah cantik hiks. Takpe cooking is a life long learning, sampai tua pun boleh improve lagi. It is my dream to cook for my family even nanti busy kerja. Kalau tak dapat every day, every other day pun boleh. Tak dapat nak masak semua meal time, satu pun jadilah. Yang penting usaha curi masa untuk masak. Despite that, on the other hand, I hope my husband would not put so much expectation on me, having a doctor wife he should be understanding and considerate :>

4. Preparation before HO-ship

Baru start merajinkan diri study, revise mana yang patut supaya nanti takdelah semua taktau tak ingat bila start kerja nanti. Aiyoooo.

5. About love

Alhamdulliah the 8th year with Shahrin. First family- family meeting done. Inshallah ada rezeki, tak tunggu lama-lama terus jalan hihi, doa- doakanlah ea.

6. Hmmmmmm that is all. Tiba mood rajin nanti baru sambung final part pasal umrah tu. Ya ampun sebulan dah. Tapi serious, sekali pergi sana, mesti nak pegi lagi. Rasa rindu sangat. Inshallah panjang umur, murah rezeki, sihat nak pergi lagi, hujung tahun juga sebab sejukkkkkk hihi.

Okayyyyy.
I think it is not too late to wish you guys, happy new year you olls.

how I spend my long holiday before housemanship

Even before sitting final professional exam, I have already had tons of plans how to spend my holidays. Fast forward, its been 2 months at home and only some of the plans get really done.

1. Part time job

I worked at the bakery, from 1230 pm to 930 pm (full) or 430 pm to 930 pm (half day). It was hard at first as theres no break in between. The only break is when theres no customers. I need 2/3 times break for praying purpose. The owner is a Chinese man. Half of the workers are Malay Muslims but none of them go praying. I asked for nearest place to pray, and they say masjid that is 2 mins drive from the bakery. Its not far but to go out 3 times, for each at least 15 mins total up its 45 mins.

The boss didnt really like the idea of going out for praying, unless I replace the 45 mins by coming work earlier than scheduled. So I agreed with that. Thats one of the reason why they, the Malay Muslims dont go praying. Work& money over praying. It is so wrong. The one that gives you money is Him not the boss. Even the male didnt go for Jumaat prayer. I did asked one of them why didnt you pray, the answer is they feel guilty going out during working hour  even for praying. Nevermind.

Other than the prayer part, the rest are okay to me. I need to pack the bread & cookies, arranging them, entertain the customer that wants to buy cakes, making waffles, washing the dishes & mop the floor. After a week, its become easy. Of course for someone who never work for her entire 25 years of life, its difficult at first to do the chores. I become close to other staffs & boss mother. I called her apo which means grandma.

Unfortunately, when I started to become comfortable with the job, boss asked me to quit. Want to know why? My bad. I did tell one of the staffs that I wont work long, probably after a month and half I'm gonna quit or maybe take a break as I have my convocation and going to Saudi for umrah in November. She straight away told boss. Few days later, boss asked me to leave as he wants a permanent worker and already found one, he thought i would be there till before housemanship which is around April 2019. Lesson learnt do not tell anyone in your workplace whats in your mind especially things that related to work. I did cry when apo hugged me, she told me this "you have a good heart, I know youll be a good doctor"

Other than the bakery, Idid apply cikgu ganti & waiting for any vacancy in the nearest pharmacy.

2. Learn how to cook

So since i'm not working anymore, I have so much time at home, I learned cooking with grandma. She taught me how to cook masakan kampung and kuih tradisional. Now I can cook sambal, tiga rasa, lemak, pindang, kicap and simple veggies dishes. Still so much things I havent learnt like masak kari, masak kurma, rendang and many more.

3. Spend time with family

At the age of 13, I went to boarding school which is MRSM Pontian, now known as MRSM Tun Dr Ismail for 5 years, continuing my studies in CFS IIUM for 2 years before enrolling medschool in IIUM Kuantan for 5 years. Total up 12 years away from family. I missed many family events. The one that I really regretted for not attending was 50th wedding anniversary of atuk and nenek.

It was in August 2008 school holidays,  I was 15, going to sit for trial PMR and I had additional class. I thought it was just yasinan (in Johor like every weekend there will be Yasin recitation in appointed house from a small group of people. The house owner will serve food after the recitation) I called nenek telling her that i couldnt go home, nenek convinced me that its just a small gathering makan-makan, so dont worry and study for exam. Few days later, I went home and then I knew its not just yasinan, it was their anniversary. I cried a river.

Hence, now is the time for me to really spend time with my family. Later, when i got into housemanship, i will get really really like really really busyyyy. How to spend time with family? Its easy. Attend wedding together, cooking together, chit chat, watching tv together, accompany them to hospital, going shop together. Basically, just do everything together.

4. Watching television

I purposely didnt copy any movies or series into my laptop and turned out to be a lil bit bored at home. Thanks to mak, she allowed me to cut sports channel and subscribed movie packages for only RM 111.30 per month. Cheaper than before.

5. Feed the cats

Every morning, I would give my 6 cats a mixture of rice and whiskas. They really love it. I used to have more than 10 cats at home, but due to accidents and diseases only 6 left.

6. Scrolling the socmed

Luls.

I should have startes revising now but hmm can i save it for later? hihihihi. Let me enjoy my holiday first. Some of other things that I planned to do are planting flowers, selling popia nestum and carbonara.

And also, to blog regularly! Like every week or maybe more often than that?

Till then,
Bye.

fast forward 5 months

Hi.
It's been a while.

The reason why I didn't bother to blog for a long period is because I was trying to recover from my failure. The thing is I failed my third posting, internal medicine. For 5 years in medical school I never ever failed in any postings or blocks. This was my first time. My mom said I always get what I want that's why I at lost, I cried so bad, till I couldn't utter any words out of my mouth. My parents were terrified as if I'm going to do something worst. I guess I've already move on. Before, I always said that I'm so much comfortable with myself, I'm in comfort zone, I always passed no matter how playful I was, how not serious I was with the postings, I didn't study much, I loved sleeping and wasting my time. After my failure, I was too afraid to fail another posting, I got two more after internal medicine which are paediatrics and o&g. Fail another one, I have to repeat a year while my friends already graduated and being a doctor. I'm so not gonna make that happen. So what happened after that?

I changed. I studied hard than before. I made notes. I participated well in class. I pray a lot. I've mentioned in my previous posts how my dependence toward God was lacking. Not anymore. I sought strength, patience, and guidance from Him. I know to Him can I only rely on. When no one can help you, it's 1-1 between you and your Creator. I cried in my prayer. I was lost. Few days back, deputy dean called me to his office pertaining to this issue. He asked me how do I feel now? I'm glad that I failed Prof. If not I'll still be in my comfort zone. "But only once". Yes Prof, only once, no more after this. Inshallah with His help, I'm going to sit on final professional exam this July and graduate as a medical doctor in August 2018. Inshallah. I will work harder in my final posting, o&g which will begin in May. I had my exam last Monday & Tuesday. Truth be told, I never felt at ease like that. God helps me a lot. He ease everything. I think that was the smoothest clinical exam I ever had. Inshallah I will continue my hard work and seeking Him like I'm doing now. I crossed into my friend's instastory and it's really touched my heart,

"When it's bad, pray, when it's good, pray"

Allah. I think I'm an ungrateful creation. For all the things He have done, I hmmm :( I would like to thank to all people who are there when I needed the most. Less than 3 months left for final professional exam, and 50 days + for end of o&g exam, it is my ultimate wish to pass it all and graduate together as a medical doctor with my fellow comrades this coming August.

Whoever reading this post, please pray for me.
May Allah bless you guys.
Ameen.

it's 2018 bebeyyhh

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I just woke up from sleep at 4 am. This is very usual of me to sleep as early as 8 pm and wake up while everyone is still sleeping soundly (only happen in Kuantan). I prefer to sleep late and be awakened by mom every single morning when I'm home (but lately my biological clock alerts me that it's already 6:20 am, so wake up sleepyhead!) I missed home already. The best thing about living with grandparents is that, if your momma couldnt make your favorite dishes, they will, if your father couldnt bring you durian home, they will. I had fun collecting durian with them last weekend. This year is their 60th year being together :) #relationshipgoal

My ultimate goal for 2018 is to pass final professional exam in July and graduate on time as a doctor, in August. First, I need to pass these 3 postings ahead which are medical, paediatrics and o&g. I hope I get posted to the nearest hospital from home as soon as possible after I graduated. Getting married or engaged is not in the list, but if, I say if there is possibility of it, why not? Please God ease everything for me.

Okay then, bye.

life update?

Hello December?
2018 is approaching in half month time. How's life? Hmm okay je kot?
Exam in 36 hours. Dah panic gila namateyy dah niii. I really really hope for passing this posting with flying colors, ameen. There's so much things Ive learnt throughout this 7 weeks and I really enjoyed psychiatry posting really much. I'm thinking of psychiatry as one of specialty that I want to pursue later. Maybe sebab environment kot. Selain minat, environment pun memainkan peranan gak. Contohnya macam posting ni, lecturers begitu dekat dengan students and the sense of belongings to ada.

I'm looking forward for 2018 because best things are about to happen. So much wishes I have for 2018. Graduate from medschool, 60th anniversary of atuk & nenek, convocation, travelling abroad with friends, etc. May Allah ease each of it. Prof N once said whatever it is, we have to have strong faith in ourself and also our Creator. No matter how impossible it may seems, inshallah with His help it will happen. Like macam sekarang ni ada benda yang I really want it to happen by next year, takde plan pun lagi, but somehow I have faith in it. Moga Tuhan mudahkan.

Back in Seoul.
Rasa nak nangeslah sekarang baca tak habis-habis lagi niiii. iDie. Cant I just sleep and wake up being brilliant enough? Zzzz.

a reflection

Rasa macam fikiran sekarang tengah preoccupied dengan banyak benda. Yang ambil space paling besar sekali of course medical school. Aku rasa lately balik-balik cakap pasal postings, exams, case presentations, balik-balik benda yang sama. K rasa dah lama gila tak really enjoy tengok movie, hangout dengan kawan semua. Tak ingat last bila. Sekarang kehidupan seharian bangun tidur, pergi hospital, clerk patients, attend classes/seminars/case presentations, balik oncall takpun tidur. And the cycle keep on going. Macam boring kan? But this is the life Ive chosen since 6 years ago. Tak pernah pun rasa menyesal. Cuma bila tiba time pms ni, ataupun tengah serabut dengan banyak hal mesti terkenang, mesti rasa macam aku ni sebenarnya layak ke tak in medical field? Macam mana boleh pass selama ni, banyak yang dah kelaut dah lupa, and then nak final professional in few months time lagi. Lagi anxious. Jadi takut dengan reality. And kadang-kadang ada hal-hal yang aku takyah concern pun atau bahasa mudahnya takyah kisah langsung, tapi aku duk fikir blerghhhh. Macam hello your concern right now is medical school okay? Nak jadi doctor by August 2018 ni. Lagi berapa bulan je lagi.

Maybe I should keluar weekend ni enjoy myself instead of staying in mahallah. Duduk je dalam bilik bukan study sangat pun, tidur, gosip, tengok movie gaks. Aku respect gila orang yang boleh stay focus on their goals, studyyyy je. Macam tak penat langsung. I guess thats why sometimes students take illegal things to boost up their energy. You know substances abuse. As long as they can stay focus. Which is not good lah. Its real bad. Harooooooooooom. And maybe juga I should stop comparing myself with others. Boleh tak focus dekat diri sendiri je? Lantaklah dekat orang lain pun. Kenapa kena nak rasa sedih bila tengok orang lain gembira, orang lain senang? Lepastu start rasa eii tak bestnya life aku. Like seriously? Kan dah insult diri sendiri tu. Okay ni sesi reflection and muhasabah diri sendiri. I do this often, time to time bila dah start rasa macam nilah. I cannot describe the exact thing I feel right now. Susah nak explain.

I need to keep on saying positive things to myself and thats good. Contoh macam youre so pretty. Youre so beautiful in any angle pun, dari depan, sisi or belakang. Why? Sebab my face doesnt look good from side view. So I tend to take pictures from front angle only. Nampak tak self insult kat situ? I really shouldnt do this. I always tell my family and close friends, by 30 years old I will go for laser therapy for my acne scars. 30 sebab masatu inshallah dah stable, dah ada kerjaya. Tak orang yang flawless takde scars takkan faham. I miss the time during my first year takyah pakai pape pun dekat muka sebelum pegi kelas. Sekarang kena pakai memacam sebab taknak nampak red spots, yang scars tu memang tak boleh nak buat papelah. You see benda-benda macam ni maybe nampak simple kat orang lain, macam hek eleh takyah nak risau sangat kot. Tunggu sampai kau duduk dekat tempat aku, apa rasa, kawan-kawan semua flawless, no need make up to cover up, takde lekuk, muka daripada tepi cantik je. At some points, mesti rasa insecured, low self esteem.

Luckily this thoughts tak affect functioninglah in terms of personal, occupational and social. Takdelah sepanjang masa tiap masa nak fikir nak rasa insecure down macam ni. Certain times lah. Macam sekarang ni. Triggered lepas tengok orang cantik hahahahhahah kbai. I know the only things that can make me happy is myself. Siapa lagi? Thats why I keep on saying to myself that I'm pretty enough, I'm good enough, and many other positive words. Dahlah cantik, nak jadi doktor lagi by August 2018, pastu baik, tak selfish. Macam beauty with brain gitu. Sounds quite arrogant, tapi thats the way I keep myself from going down. Thats how I talk to my dear self. I think semorang ada their own ways to motivate themselves. Bila rasa diri tak cantik bila tengok cermin, I'll talk to myself that I'm pretty, there is still someone out that still wants me and loves me though ramai lagi yang cantik kat luar sana, because cantik is not the first priority to choose a soulmate, and of course if you already love that one person, orang kata dia hodoh pun kau rasa cantik, and I have other good qualities.

Till then,
:)
